What's the haps?!

It's been about 2 months since our last post. We were busy busy in May and June and have many new happenings. The biggest change being Blake's job switch. He will be leaving Puget Sound Naval Shipyard to pursue a job at the Federal Aviation Administration. He will be working with HVAC systems(I think) and will be travelling to places like Salt Lake City(HOLLA), Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon and possibly Hawaii, Guam, Samoa, and Nevada. We are so extremely blessed to have such dear friends like Jon and Sarah Salter that made this job possible. We cannot wait to start this new adventure on June 29th. With the job change, Blake needed a commuter car( he usually rides the motorcycle) so we went out and bought a 2014 Subaru Impreza. It will be my everyday car unless Blake is travelling within driving distance. Most of you know, I'm not a truck person so driving the Tundra has been a rocky road...:) We are excited for the AWD and getting some mud of those tires.

We finally bought the 1/3 acre lot adjacent to our house. We live on a 1/3 acre but have been chomping at the bit to purchase the property from our neighbor. It was a somewhat hectic process but we were able to pay cash for the property and did not have to tie it into our mortgage or have a separate monthly payment. We worked extremely hard to save up the money to buy it outright and we cannot be happier with the title in hand. The 1/3 of an acre has established fruit trees and a few filbert trees. We plan to put in a garden this coming year and I cannot wait for all the new recipes we will be able to create straight from the garden.

Kai is almost 15 months and we have enjoyed every single minute of every single day with our laid back dude. Nothing makes me happier than waking up to his laughing and talking. He loves to wake up at 430 to see daddy off to work. He runs, talks, and laughs non stop. He loves the water, riding on daddy's shoulders, playing(well, pestering) the dogs and giggling. He is able to say a few phrases like "good job" but he mainly loves to say "no" and "dog". He is able to sign "all done", "milk" and "eat". When he is tired, he will walk back to his crib and try to grab his lamb through the bars. It's very handy when I lose track of what time it is.  He loves to read books and point at the animals and make sounds. It gets me every time when he picks out a book and then crawls on my lap. Not a day goes by that I don't feel blessed to be his mommy and to have the luxury to stay home with my little guy. Being a mommy and a wife has become my full time 24/7 job and taking care of my family is incredible. It was so hard giving up my career to stay at home but I couldn't imagine it any other way.

The one issue we have with him is his person space issues. He has zero. Zero personal space. He loves being up in everyone's face. Good for mommy, not so good for his friends and the dogs. He also loves to grunt.

The next few months will be a little more relaxed but we are still very busy. New job, trips down to Oregon and family visits keep this house busy. We wouldn't want it any other way.
